The aim is to see how the concept of usury is from the perspective of Tafsir Nurul Bajan. This research is a qualitative type with library research data. The primary source used is Tafsir Nurul Bajan, while the secondary sources are books, documents, and related articles. The method used is descriptive-analytical. The results of this study conclude that The results of the study show that: Tafsir Nurul Bajan defines usury as an addition or excess in debt-credit transactions or sales that are previously required, which is seen as a forbidden and invalid act. The concept of usury is divided into two main categories, namely Riba Nasi'ah (usury due to delays in time) and Riba Fadhl (excess in the exchange of similar goods). The author of the commentary emphasizes that the riba explicitly forbidden in the Quran (riba Jahiliyah) is Riba Nasi'ah. By employing the oral exegesis approach proposed by Andreas Gorke, this study analyzes the performative, contextual, and interactive characteristics present in the lecture “Tadabbur Surah <em>Al-Fāti</em><em>ḥ</em><em>ah</em>” using a qualitative descriptive–analytical method based on video transcription and literature review. The findings reveal that the interpretation presented not only includes linguistic explanations and references to classical scholarly traditions such as comparisons of various madhhab perspectives and qirā’āt, but is also conveyed through rhetorical strategies, analogies, narratives, and responses to the audience’s contemporary concerns, thereby positioning tafsir as a dialogical and adaptive form of religious communication. This is indicated by the way verses 1–4 of Surah <em>Al-Fāti</em><em>ḥ</em><em>ah</em> are connected to the everyday problems experienced by the audience. These findings affirm that digital tafsir represents a continuation of the classical oral exegetical tradition within a new medium while also reflecting the evolving epistemology of Qur’anic interpretation that is increasingly open and relevant to the dynamics of contemporary Muslim society. In the social domain, the religious and communal roles of santri are traditionally shaped through a patronage model between santri and Kyai (Islamic scholars). The santri’s obedience to the Kyai constitutes a core value that underpins their social structure. However, the processes of modernization unfolding in Madura have significantly altered this relational pattern. Santri have begun to expand their roles beyond religious activities into the realms of social engagement, economic participation, and political involvement. This shift has also transformed the nature of the santri–Kyai relationship from a hierarchical model to a more egalitarian one. This research employs a qualitative methodology grounded in a phenomenological approach, utilizing data collection techniques such as in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. The findings indicate that modernization has compelled santri to adopt new roles while still retaining the foundational values of the pesantren tradition. The problem arises from the absence of a complete, systematic, and standardized concept of Islamic counseling so that the practice runs partially and ineffectively. This research aims to formulate an integrative and applicative Islamic counseling model based on the Qur'an and hadith with the support of modern psychological approaches. The qualitative method is used through conceptual studies based on literature analysis from Islamic sources and scientific articles. The results show basic principles in the form of peace of mind, emotional control, life balance, and moral formation that are in harmony with psychological regulation. The discussion emphasized the integration of spiritual values with psychological techniques to strengthen interventions through assessment, intervention, and evaluation stages that include spiritual, emotional, and behavioral aspects. The model improves client acceptance and the quality of therapeutic relationships. The research aims to analyze the methodology of philosophical exegesis in <em>Tafsīr al-Mīzān</em> by Muhammad Husayn Tabataba'i as a representation of a modern philosophical exegetical trend that integrates philosophy with Qur’anic interpretation. Employing a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical method based on library research, this study examines the primary source, <em>al-Mīzān</em>, along with relevant secondary literature in order to clarify the methodological structure and philosophical nuances of the work. The findings reveal that Ṭabāṭabāʾī restructured the classical Peripatetic philosophical tradition by clearly separating the explanation of Qur’anic verses from philosophical discussions, known as <em>ba</em><em>ḥ</em><em>th falsafī</em>. This methodology positions philosophy not as a determinant of the interpretive orientation (<em>ittijāh</em>) of the Qur’anic text, but rather as an analytical instrument grounded in <em>ḥ</em><em>ikmah muta</em><em>ʿ</em><em>āliyah</em> to deepen the understanding of the ontological reality of the Qur’anic text. An analysis of the eschatological interpretation of QS. al-Baqarah [2]:167 demonstrates that Ṭabāṭabāʾī successfully offers a model of exegesis that reconciles the tension between reason and the Qur’anic text in the contemporary era. This research is important because studies on this topic have been very limited to date. The purpose of this study is to trace the genealogy of Muhammadiyah’s creed of tawhid and to examine how it is applied in response to complex and dynamic realities. This study employs qualitative literature review using a hermeneutic approach. It analyzes Muhammadiyah’s formal sources and its key figures based on existing documents. The research findings indicate that, substantively, Muhammadiyah’s teachings on the creed of tawhid share similarities with Ahlussunnah wal Jamaah (particularly the Ash’ari school). This implies that, although known as a modern mass organization, substantively, Muhammadiyah’s teachings on the creed of tawhid are deeply traditional. Nevertheless, technically, Muhammadiyah’s eclectic nature remains evident when constructing narratives on monotheism, much like Salafi groups. Furthermore, Muhammadiyah has successfully transformed its traditional monotheistic views into a progressive theological movement that integrates doctrinal orthodoxy with social transformation. This is reflected in Muhammadiyah leaders such as Kiai Ahmad Dahlan, Amien Rais, Ahmad Syafii Maarif, and Hamim Ilyas. This article discusses the challenges of Islamic education in the era of disruption and strategies for developing a Muslim generation capable of maintaining its spiritual identity while remaining competitive in the modern world. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature review method through an analysis of various theories of Islamic education, educational modernization, and the development of digital technology. The results indicate that Islamic education must transform its curriculum and learning methods, strengthen digital literacy, integrate spiritual values ​​with science and technology, and foster moderate and humanistic character. This study aims to explain the concept of environmental ethics according to Seyyed Hossein Nasr, identify the factors causing waste and flooding in the research area, and analyze the relevance of his thought in strengthening environmental awareness within the community. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with phenomenology and Islamic environmental ethics approaches. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature review. The findings reveal that the problems are influenced by inadequate household waste management, the habit of disposing of waste into drainage channels, limited and sedimented drainage systems, and high residential density with minimal water absorption areas. From Nasr’s perspective, these issues are rooted in a spiritual crisis and the loss of awareness of nature’s sacredness. The main problem lies in the tendency of learning practices that still focus on cognitive aspects, while the internalization of values and character formation are not consistently measured. This study employs a qualitative approach with a library research design through the analysis of relevant literature on curriculum evaluation, teacher roles, and madrasah leadership. The findings show that teachers need to shift from technical implementers to active evaluators who are able to design assessment instruments, analyze learning outcomes, and improve instruction based on data. Assessment does not merely function to measure outcomes, but serves as a strategic tool to strengthen implementation through authentic assessment and value reflection. On the other hand, principals act as instructional leaders who transform teachers’ evaluation results into strategic policies through academic supervision, data-based decision making, and continuous professional development. The synergy between teachers and principals is realized through a collaborative mechanism that includes communication of evaluation results, policy follow-up, and joint reflection forums.
