The problem of waste and flooding in Perumnas Mandala, Kenangan Village, Percut Sei Tuan District, indicates that environmental crises are caused not only by technical factors such as limited drainage capacity and sedimentation, but also by community behavior and their worldview toward the environment. This study aims to explain the concept of environmental ethics according to Seyyed Hossein Nasr, identify the factors causing waste and flooding in the research area, and analyze the relevance of his thought in strengthening environmental awareness within the community. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with phenomenology and Islamic environmental ethics approaches. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature review. The findings reveal that the problems are influenced by inadequate household waste management, the habit of disposing of waste into drainage channels, limited and sedimented drainage systems, and high residential density with minimal water absorption areas. From Nasr’s perspective, these issues are rooted in a spiritual crisis and the loss of awareness of nature’s sacredness. Therefore, strengthening spiritual values and collective responsibility is necessary to complement technical solutions.
